1. What amenities will I get in a room?

Both AC and No n-AC rooms are available at Digante. All single and double rooms have attached bathroom with western fittings. There are chairs, tables, space-saving furniture, open kitchenette, wardrobe, box-storage, orthopedic mattress, bedding, and curtains in each room.

2. What safety features are implemented at Digante?

You are always under the watchful eyes of our security guards. The premises are always safe and secure as we have 24X7 CCTV surveillance and a 10 Ft. boundary wall.

3. Apart from a beautiful room, what other amenities will I get at Digante?

Digante is situated in 80 Katha land and has amenities like Yoga room, Jogging track, Wi-fi, Intercom + Out-going telephone call, Outdoor fitness park, Library, Common room with TV, Dining, indoor and outdoor games, park with swing, Healthy and garden-fresh fruits and vegetables, Natural Lake and water reservoir.

4. What amenities at Digante will make my life easier and smooth?

There is 24×7 power back-up at Digante. Ramp & Lift for wheel chair accessibility every where , grab rails are placed to assist with balance and support. There is housekeeping and Laundry service as well. 24x7 CCTV surveillance.

5. Will I get non-veg food?

Both veg and non-veg meals are served at Digante. We use fresh fruits and vegetables cultivated in our fields. Milk, paneer, curd, cottage- cheese, sweets, snacks, fish, egg, meat, chicken, and other things are also served.

6. What if I have a special diet requirement?

At Digante, we don’t compromise on our residents’ health. If you‘re diabetic or hypertensive, we serve special diet meals. Constant watch of our doctors on diet keeps our residents fit and healthy.

7. In case I get sick, what are the in-house medical aid available?

Primarily we have 24x7 Telemedicine Doctor consultation facility at Digante. We’ve first aid kit, adjustable railed (Fowler’s/ICU) bed ,wheelchairs at Digante. Also, we have, primary medicines, oxygen, Computerized ECG Machine, Oxygen Concentrator, BP machine, Glucometer, Pulse Oxymeter, Nebulizer, weighing machine, breathing exercise tools, and much more to deal with emergencies.

8. I stay far away. What if my boarder falls sick at night or any emergency arises?

You can leave that entirely on us. We have a dedicated team and emergency medical equipment to deal with emergencies. If we feel it’s necessary to shift your boarder to any higher medical center, we’ll contact guardians and make necessary arrangements to shift him/her ASAP. We’ve tie-up with multispecialty hospitals in Kolkata & local nursing homes. We’ll communicate with you in emergency and if needed, will shift the resident in higher medical centers according to your choice.

9. Are there regular health check-ups?

Blood pressure, heart rate, weight, blood oxygen saturation measurement is taken every week or more frequent if needed. We conduct general health check-up once a month for all our residents. In every six months, we conduct ECG and blood Glucose measurements free of cost.

10. Do you provide 24x7 personal attendant service if I fall sick and need separately?

Yes. We arrange separate personal attendant dedicated only for you, with extra cost.

11. What is the monthly expense charged towards?

The Monthly Expense charged from the members will be towards providing food 7 times a day, Fully furnished room rent, facilities for maintaining the environment, safety, security, common basic daily attendant care, basic healthcare, room & toilet cleaning, laundry, entertainment, common electric expenses, amenities, and all taxes.

12. What can be the extra cost other than monthly expenses?

All your regular medicines. Any medical emergency and a specialist doctor visit, the resident/ guarantor/s will need to bear that. It also includes transport, expenses for special investigations, physiotherapy, personal attendant for 8 hrs/ 12 hrs/ 24 hrs for any sorts of surgical/ medical interventions, any special services, arrangements, etc. Additionally, you’ll need to pay your rooms AC/Geyser electricity consumption charges according to the sub meter.

13. When should I make the monthly charges?

The monthly charges must be made before the 1 st of every month. Late deposits will be chargeable extra @ Rs. 50 per day.

14. How can I make my monthly payment?

You can make payment online by NEFT/ IMPS or by Cheque or by cash.

15. Who will stay at the hospital with my boarder, in case I’m not at the place?

There will personal attendant for 8 hrs/ 12 hrs/ 24 hrs and we’ll keep watch on the new developments.

16. Do you take care if my boarder has to stay at a nursing home for a few days/weeks?

Yes, we’ll arrange personal attendants for 8 hrs/ 12 hrs/ 24 hrs or any sorts of surgical or medical interventions, any special services, or hospital arrangements with at the cost basis.

17. What if my boarder is diagnosed with COVID-19?

We have a special team to look after the health of our residents. Proper hospitalization support is provided to all our residents.

18. Do you take my boarder directly from the hospital to Digante if I’m not at the place?

Yes, we take our residents directly from the hospital to Digante, when they’re discharged. We’ve facilities for personal assistants at Digante.

19. I am a vegetarian. What meal will I get at Digante?

Yes, we have a special menu for vegetarians. You will get Curd/ Paneer instead of fish/meat. We use fresh fruits and vegetables cultivated in our fields to provide you with the best quality food. We serve nutritious food five times a day.

20. I have special diet requirements. Do you cook for me separately?

Yes, Ofcourse. At Digante, we don’t compromise on our residents’ health. If you’re diabetic or hypertensive, we serve special diet meals.

No, we’ve a different menu for each day. So, you can enjoy different taste every day.

22. Can I go outside of Digante for personal reason? OR can I stay Outside overnight in my relatives’ place? OR Can I go for a long trip?

Yes, Of course. For day out, you should sign a register kept in our office before/after leaving/entering the premises. For overnight stay, you have to intimate the authority priory about the reason and date of leaving.

23. Can I prepare meals by myself at times?

Yes, you have the freedom to cook meals by yourself if you wish, though we serve each and every food of your need. The small kitchenette in each room allows you to cook your own food for your relaxation.

24. I prefer to stay in AC rooms. Will I get AC rooms?

Yes, both AC and Non-AC single/double rooms are available at Digante.

25. How far is the ATM, Bank, Post Office, Railway Station or Broad road or National Highway and nearest airport?

ATM is about 500 meters away. Sugandhya Post Office is about 1 km away. Bank is 5-6min by auto/toto/bus/car. Nearest railway station is Chuchura less than 2km. National highway is about 800 meters away. Kolkata Airport is about 40 min drive.

26. Can myself and my life partner opt to stay in a room?

Yes, we’ve double couple-rooms with attached bathrooms and all other amenities to make your stay comfortable like at your own home.

27. I need western toilets in my room. Will I get that?

Yes, all the rooms at Digante have attached bathrooms of western style and with modern sanitary fittings.

28. What are safety features implemented at Digante?

You are always under the watchful eyes of our security guards. The premises are always safe and secure as we have CCTV surveillance, 10 Ft. boundary wall. The bathrooms have anti-skid tiles, grab bars, radium strips in the rooms, intercom telephone etc.

29. What do I need to bring with me while shifting to Digante?

All your personal belongings. All your medical papers arranged in proper sequence. All your medicines at least for 15 days. Anything special needed for pursuing your hobby. If you need additional medical aid, you must take them along. Further for your assistance we’ll provide a check list before shifting.

30. Will I be charged extra costs other than monthly expenses?

Own toiletries and regular medicines at your own expenses. If there is any medical emergency and a specialist doctor visit, the resident/ guarantor/s will need to bear that. It also includes transport, expenses for special investigations, physiotherapy, personal attendant for 8 hrs/ 12 hrs/ 24 hrs for any sorts of surgical/ medical interventions, any special services, arrangements, etc. Additionally, you’ll need to pay your room’s AC/Geyser electricity consumption charges according to the sub-meter.

31. What if the border does not stay at Digante for a few days in a month?

If the person does not stay at Digante for 1-15 days in a month, Rs. 150/- per day will be refunded at the end of every month.

32. Will the charges increase every year?

Yes, there will be an annual increment of Charges/Deposits. But it will be communicated to the resident and the guarantor 30 days before.

33. What is the formality of joining Digante?

A completely filled up application form. In the application form, the resident has to provide the details of him/herself. Details of two guarantors and guardian/communication person. The signature of at least 2 guarantors is imperative to process the admission. If you do not have 2 guarantors or guardian , please contact the management to know alternative procedures.

34. What personal/ Guardian/ guarantor’s documents do I need before admission?

Your ID: AADHAAR & Voter card Or passport photocopy – 1 each. Your passport photograph 4 copies. If you are a pensioner- photocopy of first page of pension book. Photocopy/ original of any of your health benefit card(Mediclaim/ CGHS/WBHS/Railway etc) Guardian/ guarantor’s detail ID proof, contact, WHAP no, Mail, communication address.

35. What medical documents do I need for admission?

Completely filled up application form, all medical documents, a list of medicine currently taking, a prescription of recently visited physician, a ECG, Hemoglobin, Creatinine, Chest X-ray report.

36. Why is it mandatory to have two guarantors?

The guarantors of the resident need to pay the complete expenses. In case the Guarantor-1 fails to bear the expenses of the resident, the Guarantor-2 will fulfill the requirements. In case the guarantors fail to make the charges for 2 months, residents will be shifted to a government old age home facility with prior notice to the local guardian/s and guarantor/s.

37. If I do not have any Guarantor or Guardian?

If you do not have 2 guarantors or guardian , please contact the management to know alternative procedures.

38. Whom will DIGANTE contact in case of any needs/ emergency?

At the time of admission, you have to provide 1 or 2 local guardian’s full information for contact purposes in case of any need.

39. Is there any refundable charges while joining?

Yes, we take Medical Emergency Deposit (MED) 2lac for use in emergencies as a refundable deposit during the admission. Please note that this charge is completely refunded according to MOU after deducting the dues, if any.

40. Will my membership as a resident get cancelled if I fail to make payment?

In case of non-payment of charges/expenses, the authority has every right to cancel the membership as a resident. Refundable Deposit money (if any) will be refunded.

41. What is the entry and exit time at Digante?

Entry/ Exit in the premises is permissible between 6 am to 10 pm.

42. Can I go outside the Digante premises?

Yes, residents can go outside the premises after signing a register (in & out) kept in the office, between 8 am to 8 pm.

43. Can I stay outside Digante for the night?

es, residents have to apply prior to writing, mentioning dates, and the purpose of leaving. The final decision ultimately depends on the management.

44. Can anyone visit Digante, and what is your working hour?

Yes, anyone can visit Digante everyday between 10am – 12 pm, and 3pm - 5pm .

45. Beside your appointed staffs if I want to talk with any of your managing committee/ board members, will you allow me?

Yes, of course. In fact we encourage everyone to meet any of our highest officials personally before you decide to get admission at Digante. You have every liberty to clear all your quarries before management. Highest officials are available on Saturday 4pm-6pm and Sundays 8am-4pm, every week. Prior appointment is necessary.

46. Am I allowed to visit my boarder anytime?

Yes, you have the entire freedom to visit your boarder at Digante. But please make sure that you visit them during the day time or the working hours.

47. How can I connect to my boarder?

You can contact your boarder at the concerned contact number assigned. We also assist them in video calls with their near ones Please try to call at times when they are not taking rest.

48. Are guests allowed to stay at Digante?

Yes, guest accommodation is available on prior booking and is subjected to availability on a token charge.

49. Can my guest stay with me in my room?

No, guests are not allowed to share a resident’s room for staying purposes under any circumstances, except on medical grounds. If you wish to do so, make sure to take prior permission of the authority.

50. Is there any restriction at Digante?

Members should not do any act or deed which is illegal, mischief and may cause nuisance, and annoyance to other Resident/s or staff of DIGANTE or the Authority or the surroundings. If found so, his/her resident ship may be cancelled.

51. If my boarder passes away at Digante, will I get help in getting the death certificate?

Yes of course, we do help in making the death certificate in cases when residents pass away at Digante.

52. Will you help perform the last rites in cases I am staying overseas or not come immediately?

Yes, we perform the last rites for our residents if you are out of station and on special written request.

53. What are the formalities of getting back the refundable deposit if my boarder passes away?

The refundable amount (if any) will be refunded according to MOU after deducting the dues if any. Please get in touch with the management to check the same.

54. Who is eligible to stay at Digante?

Senior citizens who are 55+ are eligible to stay at Digante. People above 50+ are allowed with special permission from the management. However, the final decision entirely depends on management.

55. I am an independent male/female of 50+ years. Can I stay at Digante?

Yes, Digante considers independent male/female above 50 years and above. Please get in touch with the management.

56. I’m a divorcee of 55+, can I stay at Digante?

Yes, Digante is always happy to welcome senior citizens, even if you’re a divorcee. Get in touch with the management for the registration process.

57. We’re a couple who are retired. Can we opt to stay at Digante?

Yes, you can become a part of the Digante family. We’ve special double rooms to make your stay more pleasant.

58. I don’t have anyone in my family, can I join Digante?

59. My boarder has dementia/ Alzheimer’s , can he/she stay at DIGANTE?

Yes, we’ve caretakers and attenders to take care of all our residents’ needs. With a dedicated team of health experts, we ensure that your boarder will get the best possible healthcare at Digante.

60. I had a cardiac arrest last year; if I stay at Digante, will I get the needed medical aid?

Yes, we have adequately trained ‘health care assistants’ to take care of residents’ needs. Please update your complete health status at the time of registration, and we’ll take care of the rest. But please keep in mind that, we also some times in spite of our best efforts may lose the battle.

61. My boarder is bedridden and needs help even in doing every basic thing. Can he/she stay at Digante?

Yes, we’ve personal attendants and enough staff to help your boarder with any special service. We assure you that your boarder will never feel alone and face issues in any things at Digante.

62. My boarder is disabled/handicapped. Can he/she stay at Digante?

Yes, we’ve personal attendants and enough staff to help your boarder with any particular service. We assure you that your boarder will never feel alone and face issues in any things at Digante. Our specially designed building has wheel chair accessibility every corner of the building. In addition, we have lift, Ramp, Grab railing etc. we have in-house wheelchairs and adjustable railed beds also or special safety.

63. Do you allow us to take our boarders to hospitals for check-ups?

Yes, you have the complete freedom to take your boarder to hospitals/doctor of your choices beside the in-house general health check-ups done once a month.
